Welcome!

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest but I've made Atlanta home since 1999. I'm a painter, illustrator and trompe l'oeil muralist accustomed to working in just about every medium because of my experience as a commissioned artist but I work most with mixed media. I also paint whimsical animal portraits and illustrations and you may find those online by searching for Smelly Rhino Studio or on find my other shops on Etsy and Artfire.

Formally educated in Fine Art and French at Seattle University, I also studied French in France. After two decades and two career changes including Fashion and later, Interior Design, I eventually decided to pursue my passion for painting and went to school to be a decorative painter, attending the Faux School in Louisville and the Finishing Source in Atlanta, where I learned all aspects of interior decorative painting for walls, furniture and molding. It was during this time that I met and studied the art of Trompe L'oeil, tutored by the Premier Craftsman of France, Michel Nadai. Since then, I have gone on to complement my other painting skills by attending the Dru Blair Air Brush School in North Carolina.

Combining my eclectic skillsets to enhance my traditional fine art education has pushed me creatively in directions I would not have considered otherwise, and helped me to grow as an artist, creating a style that is very unique and personal to me. I have been painting most of my life, but decided to become a full-time artist in 2006.
